Arabian Library

Who says Arizona is all about golf and snow bird get-aways?  We visited Scottsdale recently and were completely overwhelmed by the progressive and unique architecture every where we looked.  Located in the natural setting of the McDowell Mountain Preserve, this monument to weathered steel displays a minimalist yet organic approach juxtaposed against the more suburban surroundings.  The architectural team of Richard + Bauer took their inspiration from the local slot canyon and the sandstone ravines carved by rushing water.  Every angle takes your breath away not to mention Desert Tracery, a public art installation by Norie Sato.
