D.S. & Durga

This company harkens back to the pre-industrial cottage industries of North America.  D.S. & Durga literally craft, bottle, box and label everything with their own four hands. These processes are time consuming and low in yield - both factors that place quality of the product over quantity.  They take inspiration from antiquated herbal wisdom, native ritual medicine, Americana, outdated lore, geography, history, and gastronomy.  While referencing the classics, DS & D strive to make scents appropriate for modern men and women with discerning tastes.

We had the privilege of taking in some of their perfumes and colognes last weekend, and found two that are absolutely fantastic.  Grapefruit, a scent for women, with effervescent grapefruit peel and refreshing floral notes, is different enough to stand out from the crowd of generic perfumes, but still distinctly feminine.  For the men, Mississippi Medicine, with birch tar, viola and white spruce grounded in incense and cypress root, is old world masculine like fresh cut wood and a hard days work.  They both are available at Old Faithful Shop.
