Mark Lanegan - The Gravedigger's Song

We are beside ourselves excited to bring this to you. We haven't had new (solo) material from Mr. Lanegan since 2004's critical darling "Bubblegum"...and we were starting to wonder if we'd ever get another. For us, "Bubblegum" was more than just one of the best album's of 2004 - it found a permanent place in our favourite albums of all time. His voice is singularly his, being instantly recognizable and standing out among the greatest of his generation. Cutting his chops with the legendary Seattle band the Screaming Trees, moving onto working with Queens of the Stone Age, and more recently dueting with Isobel Campbell of Belle and Sebastian...all excellent projects to be sure, but in our humble opinion "Bubblegum" is his Sgt. Peppers. However, we've yet to here the entire new album "Blues Funeral" from which the above track hails, but we love the first two tracks that have been released (which happen to download automatically if you pre-order on the album on iTunes). We cannot stress enough you giving this a listen, as well as his back catalog. It's the perfect music for the gloomy days of autumn. Album out February 6th.
