Kyouei Design Water Clock

We're not really sure how this works. We're going to say magnets, but that's what we say about everything we don't understand. This is what we know: You pour water in the dish and into the glass. You then place one ball in the glass (hour hand) and the other on the dish (minute hand) and it miraculously tells time. On thing is for certain, it's pretty original. Available here.
