Zensorium Tinké

We have become just a little obsessed with our Jawbone UP, having made all sorts of changes to our lifestyle from being more active, to making smarter choices when it comes to nutrition and sleep. Truth be told, the personal health monitor is the next frontier in the gadget world, with the UP and its competitors like the Nike Fuel Band and the FitBit, being only the beginning. In the next few years you are going to see some major improvements in this monitoring, and we imagine a time when we as a collective will wonder how we ever got by without knowing the metrics of our personal health. Upping the ante a bit in the meantime is Zensorium with their Tinké. The Tinké plugs into the bottom of your iPhone, and with a little contact thumb pressure and the installed app, reads your heart rate, your blood oxygen level, your respiratory rate and your heart rate variability. From there the Tinké breaks down the cardiorespiratory monitoring into two metrics, the Vita Index which is a quantative measure of your fitness level, and the Zen Index, which attempts to quantify your stress levels in a simplified manner. Pretty slick if we do say so ourselves. You can see and learn more here.
