The Cuboluce Bedside Lamp

You may have never seen this before, but believe it or not, this is a design icon. So much so, that it is part of the permanent exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art. The lamp relies on a reflecting surfacee on the underside of the lid, which also acts as the switch. Close it and the light goes off. Open it, and it come on. Ingenious for fumbling in the dark. Because of the ability to direct the amount and direction of light, in terms of a reading light, it is hard to rival. If you are interested in getting one (and they are quite reasonably priced for a design classic) just google the name. There are plenty of retailers online carrying many colour varieties. Sorry, but we can't do all the work for you. If interested, there are a couple of other pics after the jump.
