RCA Airnergy

File this one under "Waaaaaaaaa?" The Airnergy, by RCA, uses nothing but the wi-fi signals that are perforating our lives everywhere we go to charge your wireless gadgets. No...we're not kidding. Somehow, RCA has managed to take something that seemingly exists invisibly, floating through the air, and convert it to power to charge your phone, or iPad or what have you. The folks at Gizmodo tried it, and it charged a Blackberry from 30% to full in 90 minutes. RCA is claiming to have this in consumer hands sometime this summer, and at a price of only $40, and if it works as claimed, they'll sell a billion of these things. Our only concern is that we think they could amp up the style factor.
