Still Life in Miniature

His name, Naoki Terada.  His occupation, architect turned modeler.  Terada Mokei is his architectural miniature line, used to add life to an otherwise lifeless architectural model of a building or development area by providing the viewer some scale.  Why is this important you ask?  Terada adopted a 1/100th scale for his models thereby promoting a a metric based "global standard" that scales down life to an adorable size, but if you're not an architect this will hardly impress you.  What impresses us is the monochromatic design (available in an array of colours) and the many scenes of everyday life that are available.  We're not sure what we'd do with them, but for whatever reason we want them just the same. Follow the jump for more images, the photography is beautiful.
